Larves dans capitule
On verra bien... Quel optimisme!

- Selon Watson, L., and Dallwitz, M.J. 2003 onwards. Insects of Britain and Ireland: the families of Coleoptera.
Larvae commonly in living vegetation and associated with flowers; phytophagous and mycetophagous (e.g., in heads of Compositae, eating pollen and smuts)
- Both adults and larvae of Olibrus are associated with the capitula of various Compositae. The adults sit on the disc of the capitulum and eat the pollen, while the larvae occur either among the unripe achenes or in the receptacle and stem. There is some doubt as to what the larvae actually feed on. The life histories of only three of our species have been studied, viz. aeneus (Urban, 1926), millefolii (Urban, 1931) and affinis (Laboulbime, 1868). The two former species pupate in cells in the ground but affinis is stated to pupate in the capitulum among the scales and florets.
THOMPSON, R. HANDBOOKS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF BRITISH INSECTS. (PDF)
