"Hi Franck
I agree that this is most likely an
Arcitalitrus sp (probably
dorrieni). The relatively long antennae 1 and
flagellum of antennae 2 with over 20 articles rules out
Cryptorchestia cavimana.
Talitroides alluaudi (Chevreux) (a species I have not seen) also occurs in France, but occurs inside heated glasshouses and has c. 15 articles (i.e. much fewer) on
flagellum of antennae 2 .
I also notice the close proximity of Barneville-Carteret - with direct ferry connection - to the island of Guernsey where
A. dorrieni has been recorded [mentioned in Cochard, P-O., Vilisics, F. & Séchet, E. (2010) Alien terrestrial crustaceans (Isopods & Amphipods). Chapter 7.1. In Roques, A., et al (eds) Alien terrestrial arthropods in Europe. BioRisk 4(1): 81-96.]
However, it would be safer to examine a specimen - if possible - given that this would be the 2nd French record, to double-check that it is really
A. dorienni . (If this had been found in SW England I would not check!). "
