Amicalement
I'm pleased for your interest in acarology and I imagine that you know the status of the taxonomy on mites, I mean the scarce number of current taxonomists worldwide (but also in the past in general) and this lead to an enormous lack in knowledge on this topic. There are many orders and families well studied and described in general (for example Oribatida and Mesostigmata) but literature is higly fragmented in a number of papers, many of them published not in international journals and therefore practically impossible to obtain, exept for specialists of a given family or genera (many papers are obtained by personal contacts and by travelling a lot round the world). Species identification is a hard work for specialists which are specialized in most cases in few genera or in few families, but non in several different families or orders.
