the key point here is to recognise the species by a live photo. This became possible only after I managed to make few observations of it in Croatia myself. I was looking for it in likely places (under stones or logs on the ground). Then I took pictures and collected photographed individuals. Then I went with them through Lienhard's 1998 key to Mediterranean Psocodea under a microscope (distinctive shape of the subgenital plate in females and other microscopic characters allow to identify them to species level and differentiate from other wingless Psocodea). After that I checked the unidentified European observations with the 'identify' interface of the project European Bark- and Booklice to find likely candidates and found some.
At iNaturalist, the species is more frequently reported from US (as for now, 5/8 of observations comes from US and the remaining 3/8 from Europe).
What makes it more or less easily recognisable in live photos is characteristic shape of the body (esp. the head) combined with a nearly uniform brown colour (sometimes abdomen appears to be striped due to intersegmental membranes). What also helps to quickly spot it is the shape of the 1st visible abdominal
So, combination of the location (Mediterranean region not far from the sea coast) and
